Patty Laurel, My Inspiration

Not all people are persuasive. Not all people has a talent in writing that can really touch others lives. Not all people have the ability to see things in different perspective. There's one person that I look up to that has this qualities that I always dream t of. She is my idol Patty Laurel.

Whenever I feel sad, I read her blogs and after reading it, I feel like I'm in bliss. Her blogs can really transmit a positive energy that can really light up someone Else's lives. Before only in my sleep I find peace but when I started reading her blog everything changed. The way she sees things in different perspective, makes me a positive thinker too. Her blog is overflowing with positive insights.

One time I tweeted her and ask a favor if she can give me some tips on how I can improve my blog. I didn't expect a tweet back from her because I know that there are so many people tweeting her and asked her advices. Surprisingly, she tweeted me back.

I saw her display picture on my mentions. I was so shocked that I almost shout in the middle of the night, its 12 midnight I want to wake up my sister just to brag that Patty tweeted me but I preferred to suppressed my laughter and my excitement because I know that she will get mad at me if I disturb her.

At first I totally didn't understand her message because of so much excitement, my brain buffered for 5 minutes. I assumed that the tweet that I'm currently reading at that time is her only tweet for me I tried to decipher her tweet but I just can't get the idea. 

After 5 minutes I decided to scroll down the mouse only then I realized that it’s just the continuation of her first tweet. Toinks!
I can't even imagine that my idol would read my blog. Before I'm only reading her blog and now she tweeted me and said that she read my blog! OMG! I'm so speechless. It felt surreal. Even in my dreams I never thought that one day the most influential and popular blogger in the Philippines would read my blog. Somehow I'm honored that she spares some time just to read my blog and to give some advices on how I can improve my blog. I will definitely treasure your words MS. Patty Laurel. Thank you so much and continue to inspire us. More Power!

First Cut is the Deepest

They say that you cannot forget your first love. What if that person causes you so much pain, would you still consider reconciliation? Would you reminisce your past? Or would you repress your feelings and pretend that it didn't exists at all?

Being in love is a nice feeling, it makes you weird. You feel boundless; you think that you can do anything and everything as long as your significant other is beside you. You become inspired; you started to see things in different perspective. The words that you utter unconsciously are flowery words that make us imaginative and creative. You feel that time runs so fast when you are together yet so slow when you are apart.

Today I found myself staring on the floor, trying to answer the questions that I raised. After awhile my mind bursted with so much ideas. Suddenly, my heart starts to beat faster and I felt a strange yet familiar ache inside my heart. Then I realized that I'm still not over with my past. Two years had passed but the pain that I’m going through is still the same. I'd be a hypocrite if I tell you that I don't love him anymore. Admit it or not my feelings for him are still the same as last October. How can I stop loving him when he's my first ever serious relationship? How can I stop loving him when in the first place we broke up without a closure? Honestly, I don't even know why we broke up. I tried to asked him but he decided to remain his silence instead he putted me in a tricky state wherein it leads me to wait for his return.

I can't believe that our relationship for almost two years means nothing to him; if our relationship mattered to him he wouldn't easily give up on us. What hurts even more, is knowing that he's not even fighting to keep me. The worst part of it I can't even get mad at him because I love him so much and at the end of the day my love for him prevails.

After all the things that happened to us, we put our past behind our backs and not let that ruined our friendships. I know that I can't live in the past that's why I've decided to move on and not to hold on for something who doesn't want to be held. There are so many things to do and besides I know that our past molds us to become a better person. I know that I should continue with my life, the world doesn't stop there.

As a conclusion, I believe that our first love left us a big hole in our hearts that even after for so long there's still a spot in our hearts that beats for them. There's still a small spot that's hoping that maybe one day they will comeback for us. We fed ourselves with so many assumptions that lead us to hurt ourselves even more. I think that's the reason why our first love is memorable and at the same time disastrous because it leaves us with a big scar. That's why they concluded that our first cut is the deepest.

Friends For Keep

When I was in first Year College, I was surrounded by group of people whom you can classify as a person with an upper hetero in short "geniuses" I'd rather call them as the "best geek in town". They are not the typical underdogs whose anti social, no love life and prefers to be alone rather they are the kind of people who will always be there for you even if you didn't ask help from them. These people really rock my college life.


Meet the Geeks



Alfredo Latoza Jr. He is one of the best people I've ever met. He is the type of guy I mean girl :) that's easy to deal with. Even if we always castigate and thrash talk him, he always accept all our criticisms with a big time on his face. We always talk with each other in school and even after school, phone conferencing with other friends. You can really generate positive insights with him. I love black mailing him, because I love how the way he reacts.

Elna Marie Malpal She is beautiful inside and out. Our bonding moment’s way back was our collection of Candy Magazines and hard-court boys of UAAP. One of the simplest person I've ever met. She's not the type of person who brags all her accomplishments. Despite of her many accomplishments in her studies she remained down-to-earth. She look like a fragile girl but looks can be deceiving though, she is one of the bravest person I've ever known.




Catherine Jereza Cheche is one of the few people that I've ever known for being so optimistic even if the situation dictates that its not. She sees things in different perspective. She's the one who boost my confidence when I am disheartened. She maybe unnoticeable at first but when she started talking her presence is noted, because of his wittiness. Her sense of humor and her good soul makes her a good catch. She's one of the few people I know who has flawless legs. So hot! Oohlala



John Michael Seastres Xiazzy sometimes we call him as "malandi" and he has the weirdest idea when it comes to human copulation. During our Physics class, when we're not listening to our boring professor we always make up stories and shared it to our tablemates and we called it as our radio drama entitled "Sa Rurok ng Kaligayahan". He's a naughty person sometimes we loss our temper over his silly jokes, but behind this, is a person who has so many dreams for his family.

Loribeth Pospos I call her Betchay, she's always present in all of my boyscapade. She's always there to support me when it comes to my crushes. We have so many things in common including our type of guy in school; we call him as "idol" because he's really a good dancer and a good player of the Locomotion Machine. She's the type of girl who is very transparent, what you see is what you get. She's upfront when she finds something bad or annoys her she will tell you instantly without second thoughts. Shy yet fierce.

Byron James Dalin He's too quiet if you didn't know him, you will misunderstand him as snob person in fact, and when you talk to him you will go gaga over him. His sense of humor is overflowing. He is the living proof that first impression didn't lasts. He is the typical type of seatmate that will bop you on your forehead or shoulder when you have a friendly chit chat and he gets excited with all your chismis. He is the walking dictionary of our group. He is a good artist.
Michelle Angela Ballesteros Sometimes our classmates quote us as "The Powerpuff Girls". She is Butter. She is truly, madly and deeply in love with Adam Levine. Some of our classmates are intimidated with us because of our fierce words. When it comes to music she's the one you can count on. She's not a fan of cheaters, there's an incident before that 3/4 of her classmates got angry with her because she divulged to her professor that her classmates has a leakage. 1 versus 100.


Jairah Yarcia Jai is Blossom. She always supported me in all of my weirdest idea, boyscapade and even with my studies, sometimes when I do not know the answer to our quiz, assignments or exams she's helping me and share her ideas and answers to me. We always support our favorite basketball players. When you have problems in life or love life she's the best person to seek advice since she has the most experience when it comes to boys. Behind her fierce look there's an ambitious dainty girl who wants nothing but the best for her siblings.


Imelda Taguba When you heard her name the first thing that comes into your mind is Mac Cardona. She loves Mac mac. She has the creepiest idea when it comes to Cardona; she made a wedding invitation before the Nuptial of Cardona and Taguba hihi. Emy is a demure person. She's prim and proper but when you see her devilish grin you will know that there's a little devil behind her. That's what makes her more exciting!


Rezza Rendaje Is a frivolous type of person. She loves animals; she has cats, guinea pigs and hamsters. She's the rich kid of our group. When it comes to movies or anything about Hollywood she's the one you need. She has a collection of shoes and has a different sense of fashion. Before I think she's odd and eccentric but when I talk to her I realized that I misjudged her. She's a happy-go-lucky and nice. No dull moments with her because of her crazy ideas.


Michael Lusica We call him as "TOBATS". He's the only person I know that has a flat affect, even when he's surprise or angry he has the same reaction.  TOTALLY FLAAAAT! He's shy and quiet but he's not aloof. He knows how to mingle with others. We're all surprised when he told us that he has a girlfriend! We can't imagine how he courted his girlfriend. He's one of the best people I've known. Trivia he's a mama's boy :)




Our group is a diversity of different people with the same interest. We're like SM MALLS we got it all! Even though we're not seeing each other more often I know and I believe that our relationships are still the same. Our school may change, our looks may grow old but our friendships are still intact. Our friendships blossom into something beautiful that we will always cherish for the rest of our lives. In this competitive world I know that one day all of our dreams will come true. Everything will fall into its proper places.


It all started here in this school.

Life as we knew it

Life isn’t an Ipod to listen to your favorite songs. It’s a radio! Adjust yourself to enjoy whatever comes in it and keep moving. Sometimes we think that our problem is the worst predicament in the whole world, instead of facing our problems all we do is just eluding. We think that by doing this our problems will be solved but it’s not rather we aggravate it.

Some people instead of dealing with their problems they think that SUICIDE is the best answer. I know someone who did that, he is the boss of my dad’s friend. He killed himself and he also accompanied his daughter and his wife to his crazy idea. It happened at Hong Kong, he had a financial problem because of so much pressure on his shoulder, and he and his wife resorted to kill themselves. They smothered themselves in a big cabinet. Such a wimp!

I realized that what you are afraid of is never as bad as what you imagine. The FEAR we let BUILD UP in our minds are worse than the situation that EXISTS. Life is too short to be wasted on crap. We thought that our problem is the worst but then again there are some people who have a more serious condition and struggling but they do not lose hope. People who are fighting to make their lives longer so they can be with their loved ones, but there are people who don’t value their life. How ironic!

On a lighter note, if you have problems that you are dealing with and you feel like its killing you, for one minute close your eyes and ASK GUIDANCE from up above. Some lessons are best learned through PAIN. Sometimes, our visions clear only after our eyes are washed with tears. Sometimes, we have to be broken to be whole again. REMEMBER: If GOD made the day to be perfect, He wouldn’t have invented TOMORROW.

And lastly, there’s this book that really changed my outlook in life and I want to share it with you. So we can spread all the positive vibes to the whole world. Let’s conquer the world with all the positive insights that we have. It is called WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?  Dr. Spencer Johnson. There’s gonna  be more to life. So there!

My Life after Volunteering

After I graduated in College, I volunteered for one year in a government hospital in the City of Manila. The best one year of my life happened there, I really enjoyed my stay there because I gained all the experience that I needed for my career and at the same time I found my new passion and I gained new friends.

I wasn't absorbed there because there's an issue before that volunteer nurses are abused. They do not hire new staff nurses even if they lack of manpower for only one reason they relied to us volunteer nurses. Why would they hire new nurses when they can used us, it is an advantage to them because economically speaking they can save more money. That's why the City Mayor decided that the volunteering program of all the government hospitals in the City of Manila abolished.

This decision has its own advantage and disadvantage. The number one effect of this is there's an increase of opportunity of the nurses to be hired, since they abolished the training program and lack of manpower they are pressured to hire staffs in response to the increasing demands of patients. They need to supply more staffs to cater all the demands. On the other hand, for all the fresh graduates and recently passed the NLE, since there's an increase in supply of nurses, to have an edge with the other you have to have an experience in this field, how can a novice nurse have an experience if there's no hospital willing to trained them.

It's hard to be in this position; you don't know where to stand. If you will apply in any hospitals they have their own qualifications, you have to be this, that and so on and so forth. If you will apply in any field that is not related with your degree, some people will judge you, they never gave us the opportunity to learn. They always think that we nurses will go abroad. Wait? How did you come up with that idea? Have you seen a dollar sign on our faces? Or you're all just an arbitrator?

Right now, I'm still searching for the right job that best suites my capabilities. A job that is far from scrutinizes. A company that is willing to give me their 100 percent trust.

Hindrance to my Dreams

People who are too JUDGMENTAL, is the biggest inhibitors of my dreams. People generalized us nurses, they always think that all nursing graduates or nurses will go abroad. They do not give us the BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. All we need is a CHANCE. A chance to prove to them, that their ASSUMPTIONS are all wrong. A chance to work for their company, and a chance to pursue on our DREAMS.
 
Honestly, you have no idea what is the impact of your continuous rejections to us. For some people they take this in a positive way, it serves this as a motivation to them instead of a hindrance. They pushed themselves to ameliorate. And for some people, it doesn't boost their self confidence rather it leads them to feel that they are incompetent. They lost their self esteem. That's the truth behind every rejection.

For me, I would say that, I feel like I am standing in a brink that if I have a wrong move in just a snap of a finger my dreams will be gone. Apparently, nothing is more painful than knowing that they do not trust us. In a lighter note, it pushes us to strive harder, the harder it gets the sweeter it becomes.

That is why I won't be afraid to follow my dreams, it doesn't matter what people say no one can bring me down. It doesn't matter how long it takes just believe in yourself and you will find. Be true to yourself and follow your heart. Keep holding onto your dreams. Think positive I know we can make it. We can bring home the bacon! So there!

Valentine's Day

The most anticipated day of two people who loves each other. But for some people who don’t make a fuss out of it, Valentine's Day is just a normal day. "Today is Tuesday" which trends on twitter. Anyone can celebrate Valentine's Day even if we do not have a significant other. Valentines is not intended for couples, but for all of us. This is the time to show our love not only to our partners but also to our families and friends.

For single like me, I celebrated Valentine's Day by doing something useful. I started my day with a job interview followed by buying all the things we need for a couple of weeks. Plus a dinner date with my mom and my sister. I think dinner with your family is enough for Valentine's Day.

People shouldn't feel envious with others who spent their Valentine's Day with their special someone. Why? Because I believe that someday, someone will walk into our lives and fill all those holes in our hearts. Better not to mind the thing that depresses you, because it only makes you weak inside and out. There are a lot of things you can give your time into. Don't get stuck with the thing that ruins your day. SMILE and BE HAPPY. Life is too short to be wasted on crap.

REMEMBER: You don't have to rush for something. Don't look for love let the love look for you. True love is worth the wait! Happy Valentines!
