Story of a Star

The star in this story is a metaphor. It can be a person, dream, job and/or property. This story makes us realize that if we really want something in our life, we have to fight for it. And make sure that if we let it flow we'll not regret it, because there's no guarantee that we can find our way back. And sometimes wanting more leads to losing everything.

Once upon a time, there's a beautiful and glowing so bright star that I always dream to have. Every night I always look up and guard that star. Every time that I look at that star I feel happy and complete. I became contented by just looking at that star. Until one day, while staring at the sky I saw a falling star. Although that star wasn't the star that I always look up, I still kept it. I feel happy and that star serves as the light in my every dark hours. While the star is in my hands, I never got contented with it, there's no night that I forgot to look up at the sky to watch for my ideal star to glow to its fullest. As I watch all the stars that glow in the sky I've learned to appreciate the other stars in the sky. I got blinded by their light. So I pushed my star to acquire all those characteristics that others has. Until sometime, I realized that every star has their own characteristic which makes them unique. Until one day an unexpected circumstance happened. As I walked on my way home, I look up at the sky and I never  foresee that there's a big stone hindered my way. I stumbled on the ground and the star that guides me in the dark for the longest time was lost. I tried to look for that star but because of the dark I never ever saw that star again. I gave up on that star and continued walking in the dark. While walking, I've realized that, that star was important to me. I regret that I never proved to that star how important he is to me. I regret that I never ever told to that star how grateful and proud I am to have him in my life. And I regret that I never dared to take good care of him. So I've decided to search for that star once again. This time I never gave up and bravely conquered all the obstacles that come my way. But to my dismay, I saw my star and someone was holding him now. I tried to fight for him but I can no longer regain him as my possession. For the first in my whole life I've never seen that star so bright and so beautiful. So I've decided to set that star free. Before I had a chance to take good care of him but I wasted my chance, instead I took him for granted and now I regret everything! I am fool because I let go of him. After awhile I look up at the sky and I saw my star the one that I once had still beautiful, bright but this time he's too far and unreachable. Every night I still stare at the sky, wishing and praying that one day if he become a falling star again, he'd choose to fall right back to me again. But for now, I'm still waiting and preparing myself for that fall and I'll make sure that I'll never let that star slip away. While that freefall isn't coming yet I'd be contented looking at that star and love that star even from afar.
